Embedian announces SBC-SMART-MEN single board computer

April 21, 2014 - Embedian announces SBC-SMART-MEN single board computer, powered by the TI ARM Cortex-A8 AM335X high performance processor. SBC-SMART-MEN is a sandwich-style SMARC-Based SBC supporting most of its I/O like a computer-on-module, via a pair of expansion connectors.

The SBC-SMART-MEN supports 18bit and 24bit LVDS displays as well as two fast Ethernet ports with single 5V power input design and total power consumption is less than 2W. The SBC features a variety of I/O interfaces and expansion ports including six RS232s, three USB 2.0, one USB 2.0 on-the-go, 12 GPIO, one CAN bus, two I2C, two SPI and one audio microphone input and headset output via a pair of expansion connectors. The low-power fanless system also features built-in DDR3 512MB memory and 4GB flash capability. All are featured in 3-5 inch form factor.

The SBC-SMART-MEN is supplied with Security Key, a software Key that protects the user's image from unauthorized copying. Key and middleware development can be tailored by the customer to their application and applied to other Embedian products. Additionally, they will not need to update the Key if their hardware platform is upgraded in the future.
