ICP DAS Introduces USB-2055 digital I/O

September 252014

September 25, 2014 - ICP DAS USA introduces USB-2055, a full-speed USB 2.0 device with 8 isolated digital inputs and 8 isolated digital outputs. USB-2055 allows users to select sink or source type digital inputs.  The digital inputs can be used as 16-bit counters. USB-2055 supports source-type output with short circuit protection. Users can choose to enable both power-on and safety values. USB-2055 has 16 LED indicators that can be used to monitor the status of the digital input and digital output channels. Since it's a true Plug & Play device, opening a computer's chassis is not required. "Hot-swapping", means shutdowns and restarts are not needed for the computer system to add or remove USB-2055.  It supports temperatures between -25° C ~ 75°C (-13°F ~ 167°F).

The USB-2055 can be used for testing industrial control and manufacturing applications like factory automation or embedded machine control. It can also be used with other USB data acquisition modules for control and monitoring.  It can also be used with alarms, security locks, and smoke detectors for security and alarm systems. The free USB I/O utility provided by ICP DAS USA allows for easy configuration and testing of USB-2055.  It comes with a friendly API library and demo programs for fast development of USB based data acquisition applications in VB, C++, C#.NET and VB.NET languages. USB-2055 is the perfect way to add control capability to Windows based USB capable computers.
