Olympus announces Vanta range of XRF analyzers

September 6, 2016 – Olympus introduces its Vanta range of handheld XRF analyzers – designed to increase productivity in materials analysis tasks. The design delivers elemental analysis and quantification for a variety of materials in any setting. Operation alongside a host of features benefit many applications including alloy recycling, positive material identification (PMI), and geochemistry.

Protecting against damage in harsh environments, the Vanta includes a mesh and shutter to protect the detector from sharp objects. The Vanta are IP 65 rated for protection against dust and water, and drop tested to military standards. In addition, operation within a temperature range of -10 °C to +50 °C is valuable during geochemistry and mining discovery programmes in extreme climates.

Elemental analysis and quantification are achieved in 1-2 seconds, thanks to Olympus’ Axon technology. This technology increases throughput and ensures analytical confidence, for example streamlining the QC of alloy and material identification. Alongside an internal library of over 700 alloys for comparison, alloy recycling, PMI and precious metal identification can be performed quickly.

Built for high quality materials analysis in the field and yard alike, Olympus’ Vanta handheld XRF analysers are optimised to increase productivity, accuracy and profitability. The analysers benefit a range of applications from alloy recycling, PMI and geochemistry, through to precious metal identification, QA/QC and regulatory and safety screening.
