Omron releases Wide-Screen NA HMIs

April 30, 2015 -  Omron Automation and Safety releases NA series HMIs. The wide-format screen allows more control objects on each screen to reduce paging so operators can visualize the whole machine or process at a glance, boosting productivity and minimizing downtime (compared to conventional HMI products).  NA series is for Sysmac NJ/NX Machine Automation Controller projects, as well as new build projects controlled by CP micro, CJ modular, and CS rack PLCs, and retrofits for machines that use legacy C series PLCs.

The NA family of HMIs integrates seamlessly with Omron’s Sysmac Automation Platform, which includes logic, motion, safety, vision and robotics. Complete system design, simulation and commissioning are programmed with Omron’s unique, comprehensive Sysmac Studio integrated development tool.  Sysmac Studio is the only tool needed for HMI, logic, motion, vision and safety, eliminating multiple software license tracking and extensive reprogramming when new versions are released.

Features:

  • 3 function keys provide flexibility to the operational design
  • Popular screen sizes:  7, 9, 12 and 15-inch
  • Bright, high-resolution, 24-bit full-color screens: 1280x800 resolution for the 12-inch and 15-inch models, and 800 x 480 in the 7-inch and 9-inch models
  • Ample network connectivity:  2 Ethernet ports, 2 USB ports and 1 serial connection
  • Resistive touch technology enables reliable operation even when users are wearing gloves
  • Uses Intelligent Application Gadgets (IAGs) for common applications to operate in a similar way to function blocks
  • Remote access VNC (virtual network computing) and dedicated iPad App (Sysmac Remote Viewer) enable prompt technical support wherever the machine is located
