Schneider introduces tiny M12 Lexium MDrive motor

July 7, 2015 - Schneider introduces tiny M12 Lexium MDrive motor. Only 1.7”/42mm NEMA size 17, it features nclude an IP65 rated version with industrial M12 connectors. M12 Lexium MDrive products provide a robust interface, with IP65 certification for protection against water and dust in harsher environments. Compact in size, these products outperform many larger motors, delivering up to 2x the motor torque with hMT closed loop technology. hMT never loses functional control of the motor, so derating a motor’s max torque by 50% to prevent stalling can be eliminated.

NEMA 17 Lexium MDrive products are well-suited for both new and existing applications. They fit neatly into small spaces, while reducing system wiring by up to 40%. And interfacing numerous network communication protocols enables interoperability with devices from various vendors. Network options include EtherNet/IP, ModbusTCP, Profinet, CANopen, and serial RS-422/485 with programmable motion control and pulse/direction input.

MDrive is a complete family of products integrating high-torque step motors (rotary and linear), controller, I/O, drive electronics, encoder and closed-loop performance in compact packages. In motion today in a wide range of applications from medical, laboratory and pharmaceutical to assembly, robotics and packaging.
