Weidmuller announces PROmax power supplies

February 6, 2015 - Weidmuller announces PROmax power supplies designed for the demanding needs of process heavy applications. PROmax power supplies feature start up at temperatures as low as -40°C, hazardous area approvals (UL, Class 1 Division 2) and a 300% power boost, making them an ideal choice for harsh environment applications that require maximum power.

The PROmax DC power supply range is designed for control panels specified for use in harsh environments as well as heavy industrial applications. Their all-metal housing and DIN-rail mounting foot ensure mechanical shock- and vibration-resistant operation.

The PROmax family includes sixteen models with 5, 12, 24 or 48V DC outputs for loads up to 40A. Voltage output may be adjusted via the front panel and either series or parallel operation is standard on all units. A two-color LED provides local status output and remote status monitoring is delivered through the integrated relay contacts. These compact, space-saving power supplies are able to dissipate heat at both the top and bottom and require no gap between adjacent rail mounted devices.

Secure power delivery installations will benefit from the PROmax power supplies’ efficiency rating of up to 92% and an extended service life from the Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) rating of more than 500,000 hours. Application redundancy and security can be expanded even more by pairing PROmax power supplies with Weidmuller’s full line of diode modules or Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) systems with battery back-up.
