• Please provide a message as an HTML attached file.  Be sure the HTML document contains live and active hyperlinks to desired URLs, linked to advertiser's web site. Any images contained in the HTML file should be hosted (and referenced) on the advertiser's web site.
• Also send a text only file for those subscribers receiving text-only messages.
• Provide a subject line.
• Please provide all the e-mail addresses you would like the test message sent to.

Automation.com will send a test message prior to scheduled delivery date for approval. Please provide all the e-mail addresses you would like the test message sent to. Upon approval, Automation.com will send the message to our subscribers who have opted to receive advertisements from product/service suppliers. The distribution list can be segmented by geography, job function and industry.

Custom Message Tips

• The shorter the message header, the better, because e-mail clients often have images disabled and a large header will just push the readable content further down. Our newsletters are a good example for message width, header size, etc.  The header we use for our newsletter is 500Wx84H pixels.
• For any URLs embedded in images, make sure to also include a text link.
• The shorter the message, the better. 
• Have a call to action in order to receive more than just clicks.

Graphical banners can be supplied in .GIF, .JPG, Flash and HTML formats. Please keep file size to less than 40K. You may provide alt text not to exceed 70 characters.

Note: All Home Page banner positions will rotate up to 8 advertisers (unless otherwise noted). All Run Of Site (ROS) banner positions will rotate up to 25 advertisers.  Home Page and ROS banners do not appear on Automation Portals. Portal sponsorships are sold separately.

If you are supplying a Flash banner (.swf format), please read this.  Automation.com uses OpenX as our third-party ad server.  Please click here to follow these instructions.  Supply both the .swf and .fla formats of your Flash file, so we can assist you if any changes are required to your Flash banner.  For more information or detailed specifications on how to accomplish this, please contact Rick Zabel.

Text Banner Requirements:  You also have the option to provide a text message in HTML format that includes active links to your site. Please make sure it fits within the allowed banner dimensions.  Because some browsers are set up to block images, a text-based banner typically performs better than a purely graphic banner.

You can submit your supplier listing right online. To initiate your supplier listing, please follow the following steps. If possible, please review the Listing Options and purchase any upgrades before you submit your Listing. If you already have a listing on the site that you need to edit, please register using the link below and Contact Kia Weller so she can associate your listing with your registration login.

2. Review Listing Options
3. Submit your Automation Product Manufacturer's listing
4. Edit your listing(s).

When you are ready to submit your listing, please have available the following: your company name, full address, phone, fax, e-mail address for inquiries, web site address and a 50-word description.  You will also be asked to select relevant product categories for which you supply products. If you purchase the Enhanced or Featured Listing, you will also need to submit your company logo in .jpg, .gif, or .png format, no wider than 250 pixels.

Please supply a detailed company and product offering description in text. There is no limit to word count, within reason. Your logo, and other company contact information will be pulled from your supplier listing. For your reference, see Example of Company Profile Page.

As part of your company profile, we will create an information request form that allows site visitors to request more information, product catalog, CD, white paper, application guide, etc. The form will be customized to reflect your available material and product offering. Example Request Form.

• Inquiry Fields: Please provide a URL for more information or spec sheet, along with e-mail address and phone number for inquiries.
• Graphic: This picture will be displayed on the right of the Description Text. The Description Text will flow around the Graphic. This file should be in one of the following formats: .gif, .jpg, .png. Please limit the size of the picture to 250 x 250 pixels.

Please Note: To provide the most meaningful search results for our users, the product name, preview and description should only refer to one product or product family.

• Please submit video/podcast file. We will host the site on our Youtube channel and embed it on our site page. Most video formats are supported. Podcasts must be in .mp3 format.
• URL, phone number and e-mail address to direct visitors for more information.
• Optional: 75-100 word description for video/podcast.
