IGSS FREE50 is a fully operational SCADA system based on the commercial IGSS Version 7.0 with all modules and functionalities included.

March 14, 2009 - 7-Technologies launches IGSS FREE50 - a free SCADA software package allowing users to test with real PLC communication and to create IGSS 50 objects (in practice, up to 300 I/O points)7-Technologies is now offering a free SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) software package. The IGSS FREE50 is a fully operational SCADA system based on the commercial IGSS Version 7.0 with all modules and functionalities included. With this free license users are allowed to configure up to 50 IGSS objects. In contrast to some other SCADA systems, IGSS collects all properties relating to one physical component into a single IGSS object.

This means that an analog object may contain up to ten I/O points or data tags and a digital object will normally include four I/O points. The IGSS SCADA system has been developed to support an entirely open architecture which means that the following interfaces are included in both IGSS Version 7.0 and IGSS FREE50:

  • VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) – can be programmed directly into IGSS through an integrated editor
  • OPC (OLE for Process Control) – is supported both for the server and client side which allows communication with virtually any PLC manufacture and with other SCADA systems
  • ODBC (Open DataBase Connectivity) – is integrated in IGSS and allows database configuration of IGSS projects
  • ActiveX – Integration with 3rd party components for visualization of IGSS objects
  • MS Excel – integrated for reports creation
  • Automation – dual interface so it can call COM interfaces, including: Visual Basic (VB), C/C++ programming languages and all products implementing VBA as a macro language, e.g. all Microsoft Office products. This IGSS FREE50 software package is ideal for private use, small industrial plants which only require few measurement points or to test the software with real PLCs.
  • Collect data from real PLCs without any time limits
  • Define up to 50 objects in an IGSS project
  • Use one of the numerous PLC drivers (80+ drivers supported)
  • Upgrade anytime to a larger IGSS systemTo learn how to use the IGSS SCADA software, 7T has introduced a series of online training videos that can be viewed anytime and free of charge.

With IGSS FREE50 users can:

The training videos will cover many of the important aspects of configuring a new IGSS SCADA project.
