The service helps customers easily maintain spare parts, by offering free return shipping and testing of qualified automation parts

June 8, 2015 – ABB introduced Repair in a Box service to simplify maintenance for its process control systems, including NET 90/INFI 90/Harmony/Symphony (Bailey), Symphony Plus, MOD 300 (Taylor), Advant Master, Advant MOD, and DCI SYSTEM SIX (Fischer & Porter), pulp and paper automation and QCS (AccuRay) equipment, and process analytics parts. The service is designed to help customers easily maintain spare parts, by offering free return shipping and testing of qualified automation parts, and to ensure they are in good working order. The service is available for ABB installed base customers in the United States.

“We’ve improved the customer repair experience by making it easy to return, track, and obtain repaired critical spares from ABB,” said Ken Murdock, US Parts & Repair Business Development Manager for ABB. “We understand how timely repair service is key to minimizing system downtime and maximizing our customers’ capital investment. This service is another example of how we work closely with our customers to help them get the most long-term value out of their existing ABB control system.”

ABB offers a full range of lifecycle services, from spare parts, repair, training and technical support to system upgrades and evolution and advanced services to help customers keep production running smoothly, maximize their system lifecycle, and continue to optimize their processes.

The Repair in a Box service provides free, secure packaging for parts shipment within the US to the ABB repair center. Parts are then tested to ensure that they are in good working condition. If the testing reveals that repairs are needed, estimates for the repair cost are sent to the customer before any work is done. Repairs are backed by a full two-year warranty and completed under strict quality procedures in an ISO 9001.2008 certified repair center.

ABB is a global leader in power and automation technologies that enable utility and industry customers to improve performance while lowering environmental impact. The ABB Group of companies operates in around 100 countries and employs about 140,000 people. The company has invested heavily in North America over the past five years, with acquisitions totaling nearly $10 billion. ABB employs around 30,000 people throughout the region.
