AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 1, 2026 — ADISRA, a provider of industrial automation software, announced the release of ADISRA SmartView 5.0, the latest generation of its HMI/SCADA platform. With built-in machine learning and ADISRA’s Rule-Based Expert System, automation professionals can combine real-time process data, engineering knowledge, visualization and control to identify unusual behavior, predict future conditions and give operators more context for decision-making.

Bringing machine learning to industrial automation
ADISRA SmartView 5.0 incorporates seven machine-learning capabilities: Regression, Forecasting, Binary Classification, Multiclass Classification, Clustering, Time-Series Anomaly Detection and Multivariate Anomaly Detection.
These algorithms apply to industrial use cases such as predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, quality prediction, condition monitoring, process forecasting and operational optimization.
Because machine learning is incorporated into the ADISRA SmartView environment, engineers can use process data already available to their HMI/SCADA applications to develop and deploy machine-learning models without adding a separate machine-learning platform.
Machine-learning results can also work with the ADISRA SmartView Rule-Based Expert System, which lets engineers incorporate known process relationships, operating limits and engineering expertise into an application.
For example, machine learning might detect unusual motor vibration, while the Rule-Based Expert System evaluates the result against real-time conditions and known process limits to provide context and recommend an appropriate response. This approach combines data-driven analytics with the knowledge of engineers and operators who understand the process.
“Machine learning can tell us that something unusual is happening, but an operator’s next question is often, ‘What does that mean, and what should I do about it?’” Gadbois said. “By combining machine learning with our Rule-Based Expert System, we can bring engineering knowledge back into the equation and help turn analytical results into information that is more meaningful on the plant floor.”
AI-assisted application development
ADISRA SmartView 5.0 also introduces an AI Builder designed to help engineers and developers as they build and configure HMI/SCADA applications.
Integrated directly into the development environment and powered by OpenAI, Intelligent Help provides contextual assistance throughout application development. Using natural language, developers can get help understanding ADISRA SmartView features, configuring components, troubleshooting development questions and finding information without leaving the development environment.
By combining AI-assisted development with built-in machine learning and the ADISRA SmartView Rule-Based Expert System, ADISRA SmartView 5.0 applies artificial intelligence in two practical ways: helping engineers build industrial applications more efficiently and helping those applications turn operational data into useful insights once deployed.

ADISRA SmartView 5.0 also expands connectivity and engineering capabilities with Automatic PLC Data Model Integration, MQTT Sparkplug and Unified Namespace support, enhanced industrial communications and new development and diagnostic tools.
Greater security, reliability and engineering productivity
ADISRA SmartView 5.0 also strengthens security, data reliability and engineering productivity with Multi-Factor Authentication, File Integrity Check, enhanced audit integrity, Store & Forward, a redesigned alarm editor, Data Watcher and expanded Linux reporting. Supporting both Microsoft Windows and Linux, ADISRA SmartView provides flexibility for applications ranging from standalone machine HMIs to larger supervisory systems.
