Analect Hydrocarbon Smart System (HSS) refinery analyzer is capable of meeting the MSAT II detection levels with real time on-line measurements.

July 29, 2010 - AIT’s Analect Hydrocarbon Smart System (HSS) refinery analyzer is capable of meeting the EPA’s Mobil Source Air Toxics (MSAT II) requirements for the on-line analysis of Benzene.Refiners must meet MSAT II, requiring levels no higher than 0.62 volume % by January 1, 2011. This new lower detection level is beyond many analyzer technologies currently used in the refining process. HSS meets MSAT II detection levels with real time on-line measurements made in the reformate and FCC streams as well as in finished gasoline.

Multivariate models developed with AIT’s SpectraQuant chemometric software allow the Analect HSS analyzer to achieve accuracy equal to the ASTM methods with the benefit of higher repeatability. Refiners can adjust blend ratios based on the feed-back values from the finished product and the feed-forward values from the reformate and FCC streams to achieve product specification with once through processing.
