December 8, 2008 - Alerton debuted its BCM-WEB, a cost effective BACtalk control module (BCM) Web server that automatically reads building automation system BACnet data from Alerton’s BACtalk system and translates the data to Web pages. The BCM-WEB is powered by the Niagara platform and combines with other global controllers to form integrated third-party communications solutions. It is a powerful tool that is quick and easy to engineer using the same methodology Alerton is known for, and is an economic solution for running small to medium sized buildings. The BCM-WEB offers quick set-up, and enables users to easily create and edit schedules, alarms and trendlogs. This saves significant time when updating and reconfiguring jobs.
Because the BCM-WEB delivers its content as standard Web pages, it requires no applet or Java plug-in for operation. One of the most exciting features of the BCM-WEB for current Alerton IBEX customers is its ability to easily and economically Web-enable an existing IBEX system. Using an array of Alerton BCMs, users can access their IBEX system through the Web using BCM-WEB.With the ability to auto-archive using secured email, the BCM-WEB facilitates better data management and helps prevent data loss.
“The BCM-WEB is ideal for both retrofits and new construction projects because it quickly and easily provides Web access—even where there previously had been none—for building owners to view their facility’s data from any Internet access point in the world,” said Kevin Clinger, Alerton’s product manager. “The module has multiple flexible configurations that meet nearly any need a building owner may have.”
