Built to meet the needs of engineers working in harsh conditions, LV-45 sensors deliver reliable performance in high vibration, mechanical shock and extreme temperature and humidity environments.

PENNSAUKEN, N.J., April 8, 2026 — H. G. Schaevitz LLC, Alliance Sensors Group, a U.S.-based manufacturer of industrial position sensors, has announced the release of its LV-45 Series LVIT (Linear Variable Inductive Transducer) linear position sensors, engineered for heavy-duty industrial environments and extreme outdoor applications.

The LV-45 Series linear position sensors are designed for accurate, contactless position measurement in demanding applications such as steam turbine valve position monitoring, paper mill headbox and calender roll systems, and structural displacement measurement on buildings, bridges and civil infrastructure.

Built to meet the needs of engineers working in harsh conditions, LV-45 sensors deliver reliable performance in high vibration, mechanical shock and extreme temperature and humidity environments commonly found in steel mills, aluminum processing plants, paper manufacturing facilities and outdoor installations.

Advanced inductive sensor technology (LVIT)

The LV-45 Series utilizes proprietary LVIT inductive sensing technology, enabling it to serve as a rugged, compact alternative to traditional DC-LVDT position sensors. Its simplified coil design allows for:

  • Shorter sensor length
  • Improved durability in harsh environments
  • Wider operating temperature range
  • Enhanced reliability compared to conventional LVDTs

Flexible Configuration and Easy Installation

The LV-45 linear position sensor is available with multiple configuration options to suit a wide range of applications, including:

  • Mounting flanges or rod eye ends
  • Axial or radial connectors
  • Cable termination options
  • Captive connecting rod design to prevent mechanical failure

The integrated SenSet field-adjustable range scaling feature allows users to calibrate zero and full-span output after installation, ensuring precise alignment with the actual motion range of the measured component.

Key features of the LV-45 Series Linear Position Sensors

  • Operating temperature range: -20°C to +85°C
  • Measurement ranges: 4 to 18 inches (100 to 450 mm)
  • Multiple analog output options
  • Double shaft seals to protect against dirt, dust and contaminants
  • 1.75-inch (44.5 mm) diameter housing with rugged 5 mm wall thickness
  • 1/2-20 UNF threaded rod or rod eye end options
  • Optional mounting hardware for simplified installation

Applications

The LV-45 Series is ideal for:

  • Industrial automation and process control
  • Power generation systems
  • Fluid power equipment
  • Structural and civil engineering monitoring (bridges, highways and railroad tracks)
  • Heavy manufacturing environments
