The AMETEK unit produces brushless DC motors, slotless motors, motor controllers, blowers, fans, and pumps for a variety of similar end-use markets.PITTMAN motor applications include data storage, medical and electronic equipment, factory automation, and commercial aviation, among others.For Pittman, the acquisition represents a new chapter for the company founded in suburban Philadelphia, PA, in the 1930s.
