Collaborative industry initiative provides North American manufacturers with alternatives to moving manufacturing off-shore.

Orion, Michigan — November 13, 2007, – Applied Manufacturing Technologies has become a member of the Save Your Factory Initiative. The collaborative industry initiative is a growing consortium of leading automation industry companies committed to providing North American manufacturers with guidance on cost effective and profitable alternatives to moving manufacturing facilities off-shore. "As North America’s largest independent automation engineering company our job is to provide our customers with automation solutions that will increase their efficiencies and ROI and this initiative is one more step towards that end," said Joe Campbell, chief operating officer for Applied Manufacturing Technologies, Inc.

The initiative was formed to maximize North American manufacturing competitiveness and halt the continued erosion of manufacturing jobs to low-wage countries. Its website www.saveyourfactory.com offers manufacturers access to numerous studies, position papers, articles, tips and resources to be used to increase manufacturing efficiency without the need to move facilities off shore. The growing consortium for the ‘Save Your Factory’ founded by FANUC Robotics includes many leaders in the automation industry today including AMT, Automation Alley, American Machinist, the Society for Manufacturing Engineers and many more.
