For this terminal block, the thermocouple leads are simply stripped of their insulation to .75” and then inserted into the terminal block where the two wires overlap. The leads are clamped together on both sides of the thermocouple block, resulting in an excellent electrical connection without the need for any other compensation metals or contacts.
This eliminates the risk of cold junctions.
