Aura announces EXV vaporizing regulator for GCs
EXV vaporizes and maintains the gas phase of GC analysis samples in natural gas custody transfer and processing, flare stack emissions monitoring, wellhead sampling, and CO2 beverage analysis.

February 23, 2016 –AURA Gas Controls announces EXV vaporizing regulator that vaporizes and maintains the gas phase of GC analysis samples in applications such as natural gas custody transfer and processing, flare stack emissions monitoring, wellhead sampling, and CO2 beverage analysis.

The EXV’s labyrinth-style flow path keeps the sample in contact with the heated surface for longer as it traces its way through the large orifice-size non-linear flow path. Its design minimizes sample condensation through the regulator and across the pressure drop of the seat while maximizing flow to feed multiple analyzers from a single regulator. An exclusive method of heating the sample generates a larger amount of heat in less time using a smaller heater than in the standard design. The result is reduced start-up times, minimized rigors on electronic components, and elimination of the need for dual-phase sampling.

Fully configurable to meet the end-user’s specifications, the EXV is available with heater wattage options up to 200 watts, temperature ranges up to 380°F (193°C), and up to T4 ATEX conformance. The LumiShield inert and anti-corrosive technology material of construction option provides enhanced corrosion resistance to passivated surfaces and exotic alloys, making the EXV an ideal fit in applications with active compounds such as H2S, HCl, NH3, and CO2. Each regulator is 100% helium leak-checked and fully flow and function tested to ensure the highest levels of durability and functionality available.
