FRANKSVILLE, WI – May 15, 2007 - AW-Lake Company announced CSA and INMETRO explosion proof certifications of the RT-Ex15 meter-mounted flow monitor for use in Class I/Div 1 hazardous areas. These explosion-proof certifications are important to engineers designing systems in hazardous locations, because they ensure compliance with all standards set forth by CSA International and INMETRO for safety and performance. The formal evaluation process involves months of examination, testing and continuous follow-up inspections. “In order to increase our business in areas such as the offshore and petrochemical markets, having products with hazardous area certifications is crucial.
The systems built for these markets must meet strict safety standards, and these certifications meet our customer’s needs. Having certifications such as INMETRO for Brazil, also allows us to increase our market reach,” stated Chris Husson, Director of Engineering for AW-Lake Company.Other design enhancements to the certified version of the RT-Ex15 monitor include an improved wiring board design and a new repositionable swivel union that allows operators to rotate the unit up to 340°.AW-Lake will continue to offer the RT-Ex15 monitor in the existing non-certified models for those not requiring such stringent criteria as the CSA and INMETRO certifications mandate.
