Axiomtek releases iCON-31000 Serial Device Servers

23 June, 2010
The iCON-31000 connects serial interface based equipment to the Ethernet-based local area network.

June 23, 2010 -- Axiomtek introduced iCON-31000 series of industrial serial device servers that provide a fast and economical way to quickly network-enable any serial device in harsh factory floor conditions. iCON-31000 series is a cost-effective and reliable solution for bridging serial based equipment to high-speed Ethernet networks.

iCON-31100 Series- 1-port Serial Device Servers

The iCON-31100 series, single port serial device server can connect RS-232/422/485 or isolated RS-422/485 serial devices to the industry standard 10/100Base-TX networks (100Base fiber optics connection is upon request). The iCON-31100 series offers serial-to-Ethernet connectivity in a variety of models: virtual COM, TCP server, TCP client, UDP and pair connection modes. By default, RFC2217 is enabled when using virtual COM or pair connection modes, and acts as an optional feature when using TCP server or TCP client mode. To assure all critical data saved in different host PCs, and avoid Ethernet break or the failure of host PCs, the iCON-31100 series can also simultaneously transfer data into 8 host PCs.

The iCON-31100 series hosts a point-and-click web-based interface that lets user access full configuration and functionality of the serial server from an Internet browser.

iCON-31300 Series- 2/4-port Serial Device Servers

The iCON-31300 series, 2/4-port industrial-strength network-based serial device server, can connect RS-232/422/485 or isolated RS-422/485 serial devices to the industry standard 10/100Base-TX networks (100Base fiber optics connection is upon request). The iCON-31300 series supports various operation modes: virtual COM, TCP server, TCP client, UDP and pair connection modes. By default, RFC2217 is enabled when using virtual COM or pair connection modes, and acts as an optional feature when using TCP server or TCP client modes. Besides, the iCON-31300 series can simultaneously transfer data into 8 host PCs to assure all critical data saved in different host PCs, and avoid Ethernet break or the failure of host PCs.

To increase availability and uptime, the iCON-31300 series provides seamless protection against power input failure and safeguard against power outage. The backup power input takes over as soon as the electricity fails, minimizing the possibility of damage caused by the system shutting down. With alarm notification capability, the iCON-31300 series provides relay contact outputs for warn network administrators when the power fails.
