In the catalog, the BIG-EU presents 199 projects whose building automation solutions have been realized on the basis of the open BACnet standard.

May 2nd, 2016 – BACnet, the open communication protocol for “Building Automation and Control Networks” has been a standard in building automation for 20 years. To show several examples of its implementation, the BACnet Interest Group Europe (BIG-EU) has released their Reference Catalog 2016. In the catalog, the BIG-EU presents 199 projects whose building automation solutions have been realized on the basis of the open BACnet standard.

The characteristics of these projects show the multifaceted ways in BACnet can be implemented for efficient and sustainable building operation. The list of buildings reaches from the Hotel Atlantis – The Palm in Dubai to the summit station at the top of the Zugspitze to the Frankfurt Airport. Office and commercial buildings, exhibition halls, sport and recreational facilities and even hospitals are all equally represented. And the catalog also reveals that the spectrum of providers who offer BACnet solutions is broad: nearly all 125 members of the BIG-EU are represented in the catalog.
