Blake Moret Elected Vice Chairman of The Manufacturing Institute

Blake Moret, senior VP at Rockwell Automation, was elected vice chair of The Manufacturing Institute's Board of Trustees.

March 19, 2012 - Blake Moret, senior vice president, Control Products and Solutions, Rockwell Automation, was elected vice chair of The Manufacturing Institute (the Institute ) Board of Trustees yesterday. He will begin his two-year term immediately. Moret succeeds Ronald Bullock, chairman of Bison Gear & Engineering Corp., in this voluntary leadership position.

"Blake is a true leader whose experience driving technology-infused manufacturing globally will provide the critical expertise to help the Institute advance its agenda for U.S. manufacturing competitiveness," said Emily DeRocco, president, The Manufacturing Institute.

"His passion for education and Rockwell Automation’s global commitment to a highly skilled workforce will be a beacon for the Institute as we work to build a world-class manufacturing workforce in the U.S." "I am thrilled to have this opportunity to advance the work of The Manufacturing Institute,” said Moret. “The Institute is playing an important role developing our manufacturing workforce, and maximizing the impact of technical innovation.

We have an opportunity to link related activities between industry, centers of learning, and government agencies." Moret is senior vice president, Control Products and Solutions, Rockwell Automation. One of two operating segments, the Control Products & Solutions (CP&S) business of Rockwell Automation provides intelligent motor control products, automation solutions, and support services to companies around the world. Moret serves on the advisory board of the school of Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he received a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Milwaukee-based Urban Ecology Center, an organization focused on teaching central city youth in a natural setting.

He is also a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
