May 16, 2016 - Systems integration specialist Boulting Technology has appointed Ian Oliver as its managing director to oversee operations at its four UK locations.
Previously the process control director of Boulting Group, Ian’s technical expertise lies in electrical control systems and system integration utilising off-the-shelf automation products. Furthermore, Ian specialises in the implementation of systems into live works.
Ian began his career as a test engineer at Thorn Automation. His primary role was working with drive systems for the metals industry and his specific area of expertise was DC drives for heavy industrial applications.
Ian and four other employees of Thorn Automation set up a small office in Stafford and became the Process Control department of Boulting Group in February 1999.
The department now has a team of more than 80 experienced engineers working in systems integration across four geographic locations.
