January 26, 2018 – Bright Designs announced the release of their latest product andon : web-based automation app for capturing production data, reporting production metrics, and sending alerts for production floor issues.

In andon, manufacturers can collect production results (pass/fail) and station status (red/yellow/green) in real time for each station on the manufacturing floor. This data can be collected through andon’s web app or through their public API for integration with a company’s existing automation.

Using these 2 inputs andon reports a suite of metrics at the line level and station level: quantity produced, yield, failure pareto, average process time, %uptime, %status time, and more. These metrics can be accessed in real time through the andon web app.

Andon also includes automated alerts when yield drops below a defined threshold, or when a red light is triggered. These alerts are shown in the web app and are emailed to the production support team.

Andon differentiates itself by its setup process. Since it is a cloud-based, SaaS solution there is no hardware to buy and no servers or databases to configure.
