August 5, 2015 - Cisco announces 5000 Series Ethernet switches that provide high-bandwidth switching (Layer 2) and IOS-based routing (Layer 3) capabilities for industrial environments.

The IE5000 Series is built to withstand extreme environments while adhering to overall IT network design, compliance, and performance requirements. These switches are ideal for industrial Ethernet applications where hardened highly scalable products are required. Examples include: factory automation, power utility substations and oil and gas field sites.

  • 24 Gbps Ethernet (12 100/1000 Mbps SFP based and 12 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ-45 based) ports
