Control Microsystems adds OPC/DDE server to ClearSCADA
The OPC/DDE server communicates with different manufacturer SCADA and utility-metering devices in their native protocols, over a single or multiple telemetry circuits.

Ottawa, Ontario, February 02, 2008 - The AutoSol Enterprise Server (AES) will be offered with ClearSCADA 2007 automation management system for high performance installations in oil & gas, water & wastewater, and utility-based industries. ClearSCADA 2007 combines a powerful online object-oriented database; unique, multi-user development tools; a flexible data historian, alarming, and trending system; and an integrated module for electronic flow measurement (EFM). The AutoSol Enterprise Server is an OPC/DDE server that communicates with different manufacturer SCADA and utility-metering devices in their native protocols, over a single or multiple telemetry circuits. “Our advantage grows again,” stated Eric Schwantler, ClearSCADA Product Director - Control Microsystems.

“With AES on-board we can now easily interface with an expanded range of third-party software and hardware systems. From extending the service of legacy field devices, to providing the latest in SCADA management technology, ClearSCADA is now the most capable host software available on the market for EFM (Electronic Flow Measurement) and AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) systems.”

Enhanced Communications

AutoSol Enterprise Server (AES) focuses exclusively on multi-protocol SCADA and EFM communications in languages native to each device type, including Control Microsystems SCADAPack, Allen Bradley DF1, and Siemens 505. Uniquely positioned, AutoSol is the only company dedicated to developing protocol drivers for both new and legacy field devices.ClearSCADA 2007 is a full-featured SCADA automation and management system. The software supports a wide range of open architecture standards and communication protocols, including OPC (DA, HAD, A&E, XML), OLE Automation, ODBC/SQL, HTTP, XML, DNP3, IEC60870-5-101 and IEC60870-5-104 Master, SCADAPack Modbus, Modbus, and DFI.

The product also boasts a built-in EFM system that provides configuration and data-reading support for gas flow computer-equipped SCADAPack RTUs. ClearSCADA 2007 is available in point sizes of 500, 1500, 5000, 25,000, and 50,000. Custom configurations are available for larger systems.

Pricing & Delivery

ClearSCADA 2007 with accompanying AutoSol Enterprise Server is available for delivery at this time. Pricing for both ClearSCADA and AES are very competitive and depend on the size of the system being considered.

About Autosol

Since its inception in 1988, Houston-based AutoSol (Automation Solutions Inc.) has been providing solutions for SCADA and EFM/AMR applications. To meet the demands of a shifting and ever-changing industry AutoSol continues to expand operations beyond system integration into the development of software and software services.AutoSol's first software product, the AutoSol Universal Communication Server (AUCS), was a revolutionary product that combined several protocol drivers into a single host server able to communicate to a large number of client applications, and is still widely used today. As AUCS became more and more robust and driver support increased, an update to the software became necessary.

The AutoSol Enterprise Server (AES) is the result of years of protocol development derived from AUCS.
