SAN JOSE — Aug. 8, 2007 — Daintree Networks announced the availability of the next release of their Sensor Network Analyzer (SNA). This release builds on the industry-leading testing, analysis and commissioning functionality of this popular product with new features including service discovery, binding, group commissioning, over-the-air firmware upgrades, locationing, an API, and support for the latest draft of the ZigBee 2007 specification. “We’ve added to the SNA’s existing start-up commissioning functionality to provide customers with a complete commissioning solution,” said Jason Choong, Daintree Networks Product Marketing Manager and Chair of the ZigBee Alliance Commissioning Tools Task Group.
“We’re particularly excited about features such as service discovery and binding, which is how you do things like telling the network which lights should go on and off when you operate a specific switch. Having a simple way to perform these tasks will help to save time and effort not only during installation and commissioning, but also during development, field trials, and maintenance of installed networks.” Daintree’s Sensor Network Analyzer (SNA) provides the industry’s most comprehensive solution for both the development and deployment of IEEE 802.15.4™ and ZigBee® systems.
This standards-based tool keeps up-to-date with the latest ZigBee specifications to help ensure compliance and interoperability. “This new release also includes an API that developers can use to customize and extend the SNA’s commissioning functionality,” said Jason. “The API will help the developers not only to support any special requirements, but also to customize the commissioning tool to match their installers’ knowledge and experience.”
The Sensor Network Analyzer, which runs on Microsoft Windows Vista, XP or 2000, is used by 802.15.4 and ZigBee technology leaders around the world, and also plays an essential role in ZigBee interoperability events, where it is used as the primary platform-independent means of visualizing, recording and verifying conformance to ZigBee specifications and test plans.
Availability and pricing
Release 2.1 is available for both the Professional and Standard editions of the Sensor Network Analyzer, although the commissioning functionality is supported only for the Professional edition. Existing SNA users with current support subscriptions can access a no-charge upgrade to their existing version.
