FRANKFURT, Jan. 19, 2026 — David Reger, founder and CEO of NEURA Robotics, is a new member of the Board of the VDMA Robotics + Automation Association.

“I am very pleased about my appointment and consider it a great honor. It is especially important to me to integrate the opportunities of cognitive and humanoid robotics even more strongly into the association’s work. Robotics and Physical AI are becoming a new economic pillar for Germany and Europe. We should not merely accompany this transformation but move forward boldly and show that technologies that move the world can once again come from this part of the world,” says David Reger about his new role.

With this appointment, David Reger succeeds Enno Scharphuis (formerly Bosch-Rexroth AG), who resigned from the R+A Board at the end of August 2025 in conformance with association statutory requirements.

The VDMA represents 3500 German and European mechanical and plant engineering companies. The industry stands for innovation, export orientation and SMEs. The companies employ around 3 million people in the EU-27, more than 1.2 million of them in Germany alone. This makes mechanical and plant engineering the largest employer among the capital goods industries, both in the EU-27 and in Germany. In the European Union, it represents a turnover volume of an estimated 870 billion euros. Around 80 percent of the machinery sold in the EU comes from a manufacturing plant in the domestic market.
