Eaton announces 9135 UPS for Mission-Critical Systems

By: Eaton
01 October, 2008
9135 UPS safeguards computer networks against damage and costly power disturbances and outages.

October 1, 2008 - Eaton introduced the 9135 UPS (uninterruptible power system) specifically designed to meet the demanding needs of mission-critical computer networks and facilities’ digital operations. The new 5 and 6 kVA UPSes offer Information Technology (IT), data center and facility managers an easy to use power protection solution that safeguards systems against damage and costly power disturbances and outages. Ideal for medium-density data centers, security systems, process control and telecommunications/VoIP equipment, the 9135 – part of the Powerware series – delivers up to 6 kVA of clean double-conversion power in a slim 3U (5.14 inches) enclosure.

As the need for greener IT infrastructures becomes increasingly important, the new models operate at up to 97 percent efficiency in high efficiency mode and up to 91 percent in double conversion – using less energy and dissipating less heat – thus reducing expensive power and cooling costs. The 9135 also provides a high-level of operability with hot-swappable battery and control modules that allow users to quickly remove and replace power components without powering down the UPS or interrupting power to the connected equipment. For easy initialization, users can set-up the unit from the UPS’s intuitive and bright LCD screen as well as monitor conditions and troubleshoot problems. As one of the most feature-rich UPSs in its class, the 9135 also provides:

  • A wide input voltage window that eliminates the need to depend on batteries to correct power fluctuations.
  • Extended battery runtime options to power essential systems for more than an hour during an outage.
  • Four convenient output receptacles and rear panel communication options for remote connectivity options.
  • The combination with an Eaton enclosure Power Distribution Unit (ePDU) to power an entire rack of equipment from a single power cord.
  • Simplified UPS monitoring and management with intuitive LanSafe power management software and optional eNotify service from Eaton.
  • Direct network connection (optional) with the new Eaton Network Management Card.

Available now, the 9135 models have a two-year limited factory warranty, an optional Warranty+ extended warranty, optional Flex and PowerTrust on-site service contracts, and a $250,000 load protection guarantee for the U.S. and Canada.

“Eaton’s design and manufacturing teams continue to raise the bar in developing power protection solutions that meet the demanding power needs of IT, data center and facility managers,” said Hervé Tardy, vice president and general manager, Eaton Distributed Power Quality Business Unit. ”Today’s networks are complex and require power solutions that are reliable, energy efficient, flexible, small, intelligent and easy to use.

Our new 9135 meets these criteria at a power, dependability and efficiency level that outperforms the competition.”
