Emerson introduces Rosemount CT5800 continuous gas analyzer
The CT5800 analyzer's cell design enables measurement of concentrations of impurities down to low ppm levels in the gas streams with linearity of response and repeatability, and incorporates up to six laser modules housed inside the same enclosure.

July 12, 2017 - To establish purity and optimize process control in industrial processing applications such as ethylene, natural gas and hydrogen manufacturing, Emerson Automation Solutions announced the Rosemount CT5800 continuous gas analyzer. The CT5800 is a Quantum Cascade Laser (QCL) analyzer designed for industrial process applications requiring Class I, Division 2 hazardous area certification built within a flameproof enclosure.

The CT5800 analyzer's cell design enables measurement of concentrations of impurities down to low ppm levels in the gas streams with linearity of response and repeatability, and incorporates up to six laser modules housed inside the same enclosure. The CT5800 analyzer can measure up to twelve components simultaneously, reducing the need for multiple analyzers.

Like all analyzers in the CT5000 family, the CT5800 combines tunable diode laser (TDL) and quantum cascade laser technologies within the same analyzer. The system uses a patented "laser chirp" to provide spectroscopy to detect and identify a range of molecules in both the near- and mid-infrared range of spectroscopic light with an enhanced dynamic range from sub ppm to percent levels. The CT5800 meets hazardous certifications ATEX II 2G Ex d IIB+H2 T4 for Europe, and Class I, Division 2, groups B, C, D T4 for North America.
