June 10, 2013 - Epicor Software announced that Urbanas S.A. of Colombia has selected Epicor enterprise resource planning (ERP) as a technology platform to support the company's established growth strategies and integrate information from all areas of the business.
With nearly ninety years of market presence, Urbanas S.A. began as a family business founded in the department of Santander, Colombia. Today the company has over 200 shareholders and approximately 300 employees, concentrating its operations in the city of Bucaramanga and its metropolitan area.
In recent years, Urbanas S.A. has been ranked in the top 10 construction companies in the country due to the successful implementation of projects in housing, commercial sector, clubs, and institutional buildings. The company consists of three major business units, Urban Development, Development and Construction of Real Estate Projects, and Private Construction for Third Parties.
As the company grew, it became evident that the internally developed, disconnected information systems would not be able to support all areas of business management for Urbanas S.A. With the increasing need to integrate all of its financial and project information, desire to move towards the use of customer relationship management (CRM) tools and business analytics, as well as provide support to the new growth strategy, Urbanas S.A. began the search for a modern and robust business software solution.
With the support of an IT consulting firm, Urbanas S.A. evaluated different ERP solutions. The search led them to the strengths of the system developed by Epicor.
