March 14, 2009 - Today's users are more mobile than ever, and interacting with those users is becoming an essential requirement for new and existing tools and solutions. Since 1997, TopView has addressed the needs of mobile user by providing notification of abnormal process and IT events to a multitude of receiving devices including email, SMS, cell phones, pagers, PDA's, voice-over-phone, and audible annunciation. TopView v6.4 continues to address the needs of mobile users by providing 2-way email/SMS communication between users and TopView. Users can now receive a TopView alarm notification message through email/SMS (including cell phones, BlackBerry, and Windows Mobile devices) and then acknowledge the alarm by replying to the received message.
The acknowledgement confirms the receipt of the message and can be used to suppress escalation of the alarm condition. In addition, users can send "request" email/SMS messages to TopView in order to receive a summary report of all points and alarms or the current value and state for a list of monitored points. In addition to 2-way email/SMS, TopView 6.4 adds support for 64-bit operating systems, multi-level Tag Groups, and more.
