ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich., Jan. 22, 2007 – FANUC Robotics America, Inc. has won Nissan’s worldwide 2006 Global Innovation Award for the development of a truck bedliner spray system, delivered to Nissan North America, Inc. “We are honored that Nissan has recognized FANUC Robotics’ bedliner application system in the field of technical innovation,” said Rick Schneider, president and CEO of FANUC Robotics.
The bedliner spray system uses robots to spray special buffer material onto truck beds, which helps prevent cargo from slipping or damaging the beds. According to Schneider, the use of robots to apply bedliners to truck beds is significantly faster and more consistent than manual application. “We’re proud of the fact that we supplied Nissan with its first automated bedliner application system.”FANUC Robotics America, Inc. designs, engineers and manufactures industrial robots and robotic systems for a wide range of applications including arc and spot welding, material handling (machine tending, picking, packing, palletizing), material removal, assembly, paint finishing and dispensing.
