January 17, 2018 – FANUC America will demonstrate an interactive education cart cell featuring its CR-4 i A collaborative robot at Automobili-D during preview week at the 2018 NAIAS.

FANUC’s education cart cell features the CR-4 i A collaborative robot equipped with i RVision to pick a product from a bin and present it to visitors. The visitor may stop the robot by tapping on its side, and then with a push of a button, the robot will return to picking product from a bin. Since 2010, FANUC America’s Certified Education Training group has been dedicated to finding solutions that help change the perceptions of careers in manufacturing, and address the critical challenges caused by a shortage of skilled workers. The company recently introduced certifications that provide students and companies measurable skill sets aligned with today’s advanced automation technologies to increase workforce readiness at all levels.

FANUC America’s educational outreach extends to all levels of instruction from early childhood education through the university level. Today, over 650 schools offer FANUC programs for robotic programming, and over 130 FANUC CNC training programs. Nearly 600 instructors are currently teaching students how to use FANUC products in high schools, community colleges, technical schools, and universities.

FANUC offers a family of collaborative robots including the CR-4 i A, CR-7 i A, CR-7 i A/L and the larger CR-35 i A - all equipped with highly sensitive contact detection allowing them to share workstations with people.
