New technical document covers broader scope of fieldbus technology
HOUSTON, Texas, Oct. 5, 2004 — The Fieldbus Foundation, conducting a press briefing at the ISA EXPO 2004 Exhibition & Conference in Houston, Texas, today announced the release of its updated FOUNDATION™ fieldbus System Engineering Guide (AG-181, Rev. 2.0).
The revised document describes the design, specification, installation, configuration, commissioning and maintenance of FOUNDATION fieldbus-based control systems, including use of the technology in Intrinsically Safe (IS) applications.Prepared under the direction of the Fieldbus Foundation's End User Advisory Council (EUAC), which is comprised of representatives from leading controls and instrumentation end users around the world, the FOUNDATION fieldbus System Engineering Guide outlines standard industry practices for FOUNDATION fieldbus H1 projects.According to Fieldbus Foundation President and CEO Richard Timoney, the FOUNDATION fieldbus System Engineering Guide has been updated to meet the needs end users, system integrators and engineering firms involved in implementing FOUNDATION fieldbus in demanding, mission-critical applications.
