PIH to be White's exclusive distributor in 13 western US states
(Kenilworth, NJ: December 2, 2003) White Systems ( www.whitesystems.com ), an FKI Logistex® (LSE:FKI.L) member company and market leader in designing and building high-speed automated material storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), announces that it has signed an agreement with Pacific Integrated Handling (PIH) making PIH its exclusive distributor in 13 western US states.The new deal, signed October 15, 2003, calls for PIH ( www.pacificintegrated.com ) to sell exclusively for White Systems in Alaska, Washington, Hawaii, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico.
The companies have also tentatively agreed to a similar relationship for British Columbia, Canada.PIH, with 53 employees and based in Tacoma, Washington, was previously a White Systems master distributor from PIH's founding in 1981 through 1998, when joint customers included Boeing, Intel and Micron. "We're glad to have PIH back as a distributor for White," said FKI Logistex Alvey Systems president, Steve Ackerman. "Their expertise in automated storage and retrieval systems, combined with their knowledge of the manufacturing and distribution markets and their excellent service and support, make them a strong AS/RS integrator in the western US." The new sales arrangement with White will be managed for White Systems by systems sales manager, Terry Hinton.
"This relationship gives White excellent sales coverage in these key states," said Hinton. "PIH has a skilled sales force and a great reputation for service. This is a very logical step for White to take." A specialist in clean-room, refrigerated-room, and automation applications, PIH has sales offices in Tempe, Arizona and San Jose, California. The company, viewed as a cutting-edge integrator in the material handling market, particularly in AS/RS, has integrated complicated AS/RS Class 1 clean-room (only one particle per cubic foot of space) applications for manufacturers in the semiconductor industry.
As part of the new deal with White, PIH has entered into preliminary agreements with two semiconductor manufacturers to provide new White equipment."
