May 23, 2016 - Fluenta, a provider of ultrasonic measurement and management technology for the Oil & Gas industry, announced the appointment of Dr. Neil Bird as Engineering Director to lead Fluenta’s Research and Development (R&D) and engineering activities.

Bird will initially focus on the launch of the newest product in the Fluenta flare gas meter range, the 160X, which offers enhanced transducers allowing accurate measurement of flare gas in more environments, including extended high and low temperatures from 220ºC to + 250ºC.

Bird has held a number of technical directorships at companies such as Xaar, Thermo Fisher Scientific and Philips. Bird has been managing R&D and product development groups since 1999 where he has worked on the development of a variety of technologies including liquid crystal displays (LCD), micro electrical mechanical systems (MEMS), optics, wireless, and the development and standardisation of 4G.
