IR Fusion™ technology integrates visible and thermal images for more accurate identification, analysis and management October 26, 2006 - EVERETT , Wash. – Fluke announced the Fluke TiR Series IR Flexcam™ Thermal Imagers, designed specifically for building diagnostics applications. Fluke TiR Series imagers feature IR Fusion™ technology, which helps expert users accurately pinpoint building problems by combining both visible light and thermal images for better identification, analysis and image management. Part of a growing line of Fluke test tools designed specifically for HVAC/R and indoor air quality (IAQ) professionals, the Fluke TiR Series includes six models: the TiR2 and TiR2-FT, the TiR3 and TiR3-FT, and the TiR4 and TiR4-FT.

TiR Series models provide a large five inch color liquid crystal display (LCD) to view on-camera images, high resolution, low noise Vanadium Oxide (VOx) detector (320 x 240 on select models) for high-quality images, and thermal sensitivity of ˜ 0.05 œC NETD on select models for viewing even the smallest temperature differences. Designed for ease of operation in a wide range of building diagnostics environments, the Fluke TiR Series Thermal Imagers feature a 20 mm germanium lens on a 180 degree articulating mount to view images, even in situations where access is limited. The TiR Series features one-finger SmartFocus operation, which enables users to quickly capture high-quality images and accurate temperature measurements.

Fluke SmartView software is included with each Fluke TiR Series Thermal Imager. SmartView software is a modular suite of tools that allows users to annotate, view, edit and analyze IR images, as well as generate fully-customized, professional-looking reports in a few steps. The TiR2 and TiR4 models include built-in auto-capture, alarm and analysis functions for diagnosing intermittent problems. Use the Fluke TiR Series Thermal Imagers for applications including:

  • Roofing Surveys: Detect wet areas in roofing systems quickly and efficiently.
  • Energy Audits: Perform infrared energy audits for residential and commercial applications.
  • Moisture/Restoration: Accurately detect moisture issues located behind exterior and interior walls, in ceilings or under carpet-covered floors.
  • Mold Remediation: Control mold by finding unknown sources of moisture that would otherwise go undetected.
  • Full Infrared – high-resolution standard infrared images.
  • Full Visible Light – pixel-for-pixel, visible light digital reference control images at 1.3 mega-pixel resolution.
  • Picture-in-Picture – an IR image portal surrounded by a frame of visible light for reference.
  • Alpha Blending – combines infrared and visible light images blended together at user-adjustable levels for the greatest image clarity.
  • IR/Visible Alarm – displays only the portions of the image that fall above, below or between a user-specified temperature range as IR, leaving the remainder of the image as full visible light.

Find wet portions of the roofing structure and repair or replace before the entire roof is damaged.

Increase the thermal efficiency of a home or building by scanning for thermal heat loss, air infiltration or exfiltration, or air delivery problems.

IR Fusion Technology IR-Fusion technology facilitates real time pixel-for-pixel merging of infrared and visible light images together on a single display.

Providing five viewing modes – each designed to add greater clarity, accuracy and a valuable frame of reference to infrared images – IR-Fusion is the only technology to allow users to manipulate images right on the camera’s display and is designed specifically to allow users to find problems not commonly detected with similar infrared imaging cameras.

IR-Fusion captures infrared and visible light images and simultaneously displays the images fused together, adding a new dimension of detail that saves time and money and best conveys infrared information of each specific application and environment.

Viewing modes include:

IR-Fusion makes it easier to identify details and potential problems by managing and analyzing images with complete control over both the infrared and visible light spectrums.

The ability to fuse images on-camera and optimize images in real-time, combined with an exclusive on-screen, laser pointing indicator, improves primary target identification, enhances issue locating efficiency and offers a tremendous advantage in reporting clarity.

Pricing and Availability

The Fluke TiR Series Thermal Imagers are available immediately for US list prices of: $12,495 for the TiR2; $15,490 for the TiR2-FT; $16,495 for the TiR3; $19,490 for the TiR3-FT; $19,995 for the TiR4; and $22,990 for the TiR4-FT.
