August 12, 2015 - FSG introduces MH8-GS63 absolute encoders for operation in hazardous environments (compliant with ATEX and IECEx) and for applications with safety-related requirements as per SIL2 and PLd.
The contact-free redundant magnetic multi-turn encoders in two-wire technology feature a measuring range of 2880°, 14bit resolution and an analogue 4-20 mA interface. The signal output utilizes only one channel; the second channel is used for safety monitoring tasks.
The shock and impact resistant MH8 encoders are also immune to noise. Suitable for demanding environments due to their stainless steel housing with protection class IP67, the devices withstand temporary immersion. Typical uses include offshore applications as well as applications within the oil and gas industry.
