Georgianna Shea is chief technologist at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, leading research, technology assessments and policy on cybersecurity, critical infrastructure resilience and emerging technologies. She brings nearly 30 years of experience building and securing national security systems and translating technical findings into practical guidance for policymakers, business leaders and operators. Previously a chief engineer at MITRE, Georgianna served on the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology’s Cyber-Physical Resilience Working Group. She coauthored Post-Quantum Leadership: Knowledge and Practical Perspectives on Post-Quantum Readiness. A U.S. Army veteran, Georgianna holds degrees in computer science and information technology and a Doctor of Computer Science in information assurance.
