September 29, 2009 - Hilscher announces netSCRIPT, a scripting tool that can be used to create gateways for custom serial protocols to over 60 different industry standard protocols supported by netTAP. netSCRIPT is based on the programming language Lua that has been on the market since 1993. Comprehensive functions such as PortOpen(), -Send(), -Receive() are controlling the serial interface on one hand, the functions BusIOOpen(), -Write() and -Read() the data transport from and to the superior I/O network on the other.
The addition of netSCRIPT makes the netTAP product line more flexible for customers to do customized developments with the netTAP 100. netSCRIPT is included as a DTM along with the configuration tool SYCON.net which is an FDT based configuration tool. netSCRIPT includes a diagnostic tool, a program editor, variable manager, syntax checker and an online debugger delivering a complete engineering environment.
Earlier this year, Hilscher announced the release of the netTAP 100 universal gateway and now have added more then 70 additional conversions between the real time Ethernet systems, traditional fieldbus’s and serial protocols. netTAP is a universal gateway with Master or Slave support for EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, PROFIBUS, EtherCAT, PROFINET, CANopen, PowerLINK, SERCOS III, MB-TCP, Modbus RTU/ASCII, AS-I Master and CC-Link slave along with custom serial protocols.
