HIMA appoints Heinz Plaga head of IT

For the past seven years he was Executive Director IT for Lufthansa AirPlus.

September 15 - Heinz Plaga is the Head of IT at HIMA. Plaga has 38 years of experience in the IT organizations of well-known enterprises active internationally in the areas of service, finance, industry and consulting. His career started in 1977 as a system consultant at ARAL. Subsequently, he worked in leadership positions at Software AG and Union Investment AG, and as Managing Partner for Gartner. For the past seven years he was Executive Director IT for Lufthansa AirPlus.

"With his experience, we look for Heinz Plaga to help us establish optimized IT structures and processes, leverage HIMA's efforts in establishing uniform standards worldwide and set the right course for the future," said Reinhard Seibold, HIMA CFO. "The digitalization of small and medium-sized enterprises is progressing rapidly, and we must keep pace."

Heinz Plaga is active in various industry and business organizations, including the CIO Advisory Board Europe, the Economic Advisory Council IT of the Non-Profit Organization for Research Transfer (Gesellschaft für Forschungstransfer (GFFT), and the Diplomatic Council.
