February 27, 2012 - Honeywell introduced VFD CORE variable frequency drives, designed to maximize energy savings in commercial building. Commercial buildings are the largest consumer of electricity in the United States with much of the electricity being consumed by fans and pumps. VFDs, which control the speed of pumps and fans in commercial heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, can produce substantial energy savings.
VFD CORE helps make installation and commissioning easy for contractors and reduces time on the job with its new features, including:
- A “Quick Startup” guide and “Startup Wizard” which guide the commissioner through installation and programming
- Increased memory allows for four parameter sets to be stored in one keypad for quick upload and downloading
- Integrated Modbus communication protocol for compatibility with almost every building management system.
“VFD CORE provides a solution for contractors that works in 95 percent of HVAC applications and can be programmed in minutes,” said Dave Molin, general manager, Honeywell Building Control Systems. “It also provides building owners and facility managers another way to cut their utility bills and decrease the size of their carbon footprint.”
