The full-service facility will serve as a regional hub for process and building control customers in northern Alberta and Saskatchewan.

October 2, 2012 – Honeywell opened a customer training and support centre in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The full-service facility will serve as a regional hub for Honeywell’s many industrial process and building control customers in northern Alberta and Saskatchewan and provide a convenient resource for training with the latest automation technology. “Western Canada, where Honeywell has long had a significant presence, is also home to many Honeywell customers in the energy sector. More than 70 percent of the heavy oil refining ventures in Alberta, for example, rely upon Honeywell technology and services,” said Mark Zyskowski, vice president-Sales for Honeywell Process Solutions.

“Investing in a new customer-training facility allows us to provide customers with local hands-on support backed by Honeywell’s global resources and expertise.” In addition to providing standard technology training, the centre will house a Honeywell Automation College that teaches operators, engineers, technicians, and plant and building managers how to use automation and control systems to improve safety, security, reliability and energy efficiency. Honeywell has similar facilities in Edmonton and North Vancouver, and other locations around the world. Honeywell’s broad array of process and facility automation technology is used by Alberta customers in heavy oil refining, oil sands mining, extraction, upgrader and steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) projects.

Honeywell also provides industrial performance monitoring solutions that allow customers to continuously improve operations. And it delivers integrated building control and security solutions to help protect the people and infrastructure at these sites. The Fort McMurray centre provides a more-convenient location for customers to gain local access to these capabilities. In addition to this local expertise, Honeywell can also tap into its global resources to support project implementation and ongoing after-market support solutions such as system migrations and lifecycle solutions.

Honeywell International is a Fortune 100 diversified technology and manufacturing leader, serving customers worldwide with aerospace products and services; control technologies for buildings, homes and industry; automotive products; turbochargers; and specialty materials. Based in Morris Township, N.J., Honeywell’s shares are traded on the New York, London, and Chicago Stock Exchanges. Honeywell Process Solutions is part of Honeywell’s Automation and Control Solutions group, a global leader in providing product and service solutions that improve efficiency and profitability, support regulatory compliance, and maintain safe, comfortable environments in homes, buildings and industry.
