November 19, 2014 - Infotecs completied Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) FIPS 140-1 and FIPS 140-2 cryptographic modules certifications from the U.S. government's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Infotecs' ViPNet Common Crypto Core Module was included on the validated list.
Recognized worldwide as one of the highest standards for security validation, FIPS 140-2 validation are publicly announced standards developed by the U.S. Federal government for use by all non-military government agencies and by government contractors. Cryptographic modules are subjected to rigorous testing by independent, accredited test facilities in order to achieve validation. In today's challenging cyber security environment the FIPS Certification ensures that companies are meeting the toughest standards for security and encryption.
