November 13, 2014 - Int INSYS icom introduces MRX industrial routers for DIN rail installation. The routers come with two different housing widths with three or five slots. One or three of these slots respectively can be equipped with extension modules (MRXcards). These modules allow users to adjust and extend the routers’ functional range depending on individual requirements.

The MRXcard SI, for instance, extends the platform by USB 2.0, RS232, and RS485 interfaces as well as two digital inputs and two switching outputs. The MRXcard ES provides a 10/100 Mbps 4-port switch, while the MRXcard PL adds the functions of an LTE, UMTS/HSPA, and GPRS/EDGE modem.

Two basic MRX models are available: the MRX LAN features an Ethernet module equipped with five LAN ports for up to five separate IP networks as well as a power module with two digital inputs. The MRX LTE also features five LAN ports and includes an LTE module with an integrated power supply and two digital inputs instead of the power module. Integrated functions include VPN, a stateful firewall, and further professional IT security features. With the INSYS Connectivity Service virtual private network (VPN) tool, even users without special skills or expertise can create and administrate their own secure networks. Due to these and other features, the MRX series is also ideally suited for use in critical infrastructures.
