February 21, 2013 - INSYS icom introduces QLM programmable router modules that are designed for integration into various applications. Measuring merely 56 x 56 mm, the modules provide users with fully equipped single board router solutions.
For optimal IT security, the units feature three VPN types and a firewall. All embedded routers can be configured via a web browser and provide a Linux-based sandbox that enables users to create applications separated from the device firmware in their preferred programming language (such as C, C++, Python, or Java). Ethernet, RS232, and I²C interfaces allow for the implementation of specific project requirements.
INSYS offers a GPRS/EDGE and a UMTS/HSPA model for mobile radio applications. Serial or Ethernet devices can be integrated into WLAN networks with the QLM WLAN model. In special applications, data can be optionally transferred via HSPA or WLAN.
The embedded SDSL modules connect local networks or Ethernet devices in remote locations via DSL through two- or four-wire lines. Installed in pairs, they can be used to create transparent leased lines or to connect two separate network segments. Lastly, the embedded ADSL modules provide applications with broadband internet access or can be used as components for ADSL-based router products. QLM ADSL modules considerably facilitate the integration of ADSL technology. Unlike ADSL chip sets, they can be ordered in small quantities.
INSYS offers extensive support to integrators, including a free-of-charge Linux sandbox development environment, FAQ lists, an online tutorial, example programs, and sandbox workshops. Interested Linux programmers can apply for the INSYS partner program.
