March 12, 2009 – The MDrive product line offers an optional internal encoder for reliable position monitoring with differential or single ended outputs that is less prone to electrical noise interference, is available with a choice of line counts, and does not increase the MDrive product size. Offered as an option for MDrive 14, 17 and 23 Microstepping versions with step and direction input, the optional internal magnetic encoder provides reliable, rugged low cost position monitoring that is less prone to interference in harsh environments. Nine (9) line counts are available from 100 to as high as 1000 for applications demanding finer resolutions. All resolutions include an index mark.
While external encoders are also available for these MDrive products, the new internal encoders have the additional benefit of not increasing the product’s size. Plus they are less prone to mechanical damage as they are protected inside the metal housing of the MDrive products.MDrive products achieve unsurpassed smoothness and performance by applying innovative techniques to control current flow through the motor so resonance is significantly dampened over the entire speed range and audible noise is reduced. Oversized input capacitors minimize power line surges, reducing problems that can occur with long cable runs and multiple drive systems. And an extended operating range of –40° to +85°C provides long life, trouble free service in demanding environments.
