June 27, 2006 - Interneer, Inc. recently formed an important partnership with Itron, Inc. licensing its technology to expand the capabilities of Itron's applications. Itron will market, sell, install and support Interneer's software in Distribution Staker 1.5, the leading distribution design system for the Electricity, Gas, and Water Utilities markets.
In return, Interneer granted Itron an exclusive license to Interneer's Intellect product, as a tightly embedded module for Itron's Distribution Design Studio application. The agreement affords Itron the right to use the full functionality of the latest released version of Interneer Intellect to create appropriate product configurations, sold as available modules to Itron's Distribution Design Studio toolset. Interneer Intellect is modular, web-based and user-configurable. A standard browser is the main client platform and no programming is required. Interneer customizes Intellect for each customer's unique needs.
The large number of new features Intellect provides, easily added to Distribution Staker 1.5, greatly enhance the capacity and marketability of Itron's product. Not only in the case of Itron does this amazing level of flexibility and ease-of-use allow for the up sell of newly integrated software systems. Intellect can be easily adapted to coincide with any pre-existing computer programs.
Distribution Staker 1.5 is the second major release of Itron's Distribution Design Studio. It is specifically designed for the Electric, Gas, and Water Utility Markets and is focused on automating the design process from the point of work order creation through design and material ordering and construction and updating of utility systems. Interneer's Intellect greatly expands the number of features and user control of Distribution Staker 1.5, allowing managers and employees to complete tasks more efficiently.
Distribution Design Studio is sold in three interoperable configurations, each building on the previous with increased groupings of functionality. These packages or modules are used as tools to handle specific utility needs and implementation concerns. The functional groupings have been developed with a mind towards utility market segments as well as functionality sets provided by competitive products in each segment. The goal of incorporating Interneer's Intellect is to meet the ever-changing needs of specific utilities, regardless of market segments.
Interneer's Intellect provides Itron with an upgrade path that adapts to changes within its organization, a benefit not seen with the competition.Interneer's software defines a new market category and draws revenue from enterprises that are dissatisfied with the rigidity of enterprise and off-the-shelf process and product management systems. Intellect's ability to be customized to fit the needs of each client offers the low costs of off-the-shelf software with the flexibility of custom software. Consequently, Interneer's Instant Application Framework impacts many software markets.
