Research Triangle Park, NC (29 June 2005) - ISA will provide two half-day training courses at the MESA conference on Monday, September 26, 2005 in Orlando, FL. The courses, "Overview of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Implementation using the ANSI/ISA-95 Standards" and "Overview of Enterprise/Control Integration Implementation Using ANSI/ISA-95 Standards," will run from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. CEU's will be offered for each course." Overview of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Implementation using the ANSI/ISA-95 Standards" will provide an overview to Part 3 of the ISA-95 standard "Activity Models of Manufacturing Operations Management".
Attendees will gain an understanding of how ISA-95 is used to specify and evaluate MES system functionality related to Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Inventory Operations Management. The seminar will introduce the standard activity models, the tasks performed by the activities and the high level data flows that exist between the activities." Overview of Enterprise/Control Integration Implementation Using ANSI/ISA-95 Standards" will focus on introducing students to the integration of enterprise and manufacturing systems using the models defined in the ISA-95 standards. They will learn how ISA-95 is used to support business to manufacturing integration within the overall supply chain and the business drivers associated with this integration.
The standard terminology and formal data models used to support the exchange of enterprise and manufacturing information will also be introduced." The ISA-95 series of standards are gaining rapid acceptance by many manufacturing companies and manufacturing software solution providers. Collaboration between MESA International, ISA and the WBF to provide professional training materials on using the standards is a proficient way to provide the industry with the essential training needed to implement ISA-95," stated Keith Unger of Stone Technologies and Chairman of the ISA-SP95 committee.ISA will also feature a free 90-minute briefing on ISA-95 for managers at the event.
