September 3, 2013 - ITT announced that its Neo-Dyn brand of pressure and temperature switches has been third-party certified to the functional safety and security standards required by IEC 61508. The independent verification, which includes a Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 3 capability rating, was performed by exida, a leader in industrial safety certifications. “ITT’s Neo-Dyn brand of switches has a long history of meeting customer quality, reliability and safety standards for critical applications,” said Munish Nanda, president of ITT’s Control Technologies business.
“While we have always been confident in the integrity of our highly engineered products, this certification allows us to provide additional verification to customers, especially those with rugged, harsh environment applications.” The pressure and temperature switches have comprehensive safety data that was also certified to determine applicability to specific safety-related applications. In addition, reliability data is available for use by engineers in designing and verifying each Safety Instrumented Function in their system. The Neo-Dyn brand is a leader in the design, manufacture and supply of high-performing switches for the industrial, oil and gas, chemical process and energy markets.
